Advises global telecommunications and tech companies on how to leverage their data to bring AI and analytics to every business decision

Sebastian, a partner based in McKinsey’s Miami office, works extensively with telecom operators across the globe and focuses on their biggest data and analytics challenges.

As part of his work, Sebastian helps executives take an outside-in view of their current status and weigh the value of future opportunities to further leverage the latest technologies and techniques. He helps them design new strategies and architect end-state solutions that take advantage of AI and data. He also guides implementation, supporting clients to build capabilities quickly.

Examples of his recent client work include:

  • developing a data strategy and implementation plan after a thorough assessment for a federated multinational starting its centralized data organization
  • designing and implementing an analytics center of excellence for a North American technology company, including its structure, talent strategy, and roadmap for its first five years
  • advising a major North American company on its business-to-business growth strategy, leveraging latest lessons on analytics and machine learning
  • enhancing the network capital deployment for a major North American telecommunications operator by redesigning its engagement model across business units and incorporating multiple sources of data
  • defining a churn-reduction strategy for a major telecommunications company with operations across Latin America, building machine learning models to segment customers and identify key initiatives to lead operational change

In addition to his client service, Sebastian is a leader in our North America Hispanic Latino Network, a platform for consultants and Hispanic and Latino leaders to connect and build community as well as advance their professional development.

Sebastian first joined McKinsey in Buenos Aires in 2013 and has been part of the Samford and Miami offices as well. He has developed deep expertise in data and analytics through his service to major telecommunications companies across markets in South America, Central America, and North America.

Before joining McKinsey, Sebastian worked as a research assistant for the World Bank in Washington, DC, and as an international arbitration analyst for Compass Lexecon in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Sebastian holds an MBA from MIT and a bachelor’s in economics from Universidad del CEMA.
